Benefits Q&A (Face to face)

Many carers find themselves in the positioning of having to access benefits for themselves or the person they care for. Navigating the welfare system can be confusing so come along to this session led by the Money Matters team at VOCAL to ask specific questions about benefits and find out what’s available.

Who is this session for?
Carers who are not currently accessing benefits but would like to know more information about what they or the person they care for could be entitled to and for carers who think there might be a change in the benefits they or the person they care for receive.
This event is open to carers residing in or caring for a person in Edinburgh only.
Outcomes of this session
The session will cover a Q &A session and also:
- An outline of the benefits applicable to carers and information about any changes due to Coronavirus.
- An outline of some of the benefits that may be relevant to the cared for person and any changes due to Coronavirus.
- Information on Carers Allowance, Attendance Allowance, PIP, ESA, DLA and Universal credit.

VOCAL is pleased to offer face to face training courses at the Edinburgh Carers Hub, 60 Leith Walk, EH6 5HB. A number of measures have been introduced to protect the safety and wellbeing of carers coming into the hub.
This event has limited places for physical distancing.
Face to face courses may be cancelled at short notice if indicated by government guidance or other COVID factor.
