Introduction to making your voice heard (Face to face)

This interactive session aims to build on the knowledge and skills carers already have to increase their confidence to self-advocate or participate in formal meetings and assessments or get involved in consultations on an equal footing with professionals.

Who is this session for?
This event is open to carers residing in or caring for a person in Edinburgh only.

Outcomes of this session

This session will cover the following:

  • What we mean when we talk about self-advocacy and participation.
  • Why self-advocacy and participation is important for carers and what gets in the way.
  • Knowing your rights as a carer.
  • Developing the skills of successful self-advocacy and powerful participation.
  • Practising what we have learned.

VOCAL is pleased to be able once again to offer a limited number of face to face training courses at the Edinburgh Carers Hub, 60 Leith Walk, EH6 5HB.

This session is limited to five places for physical distancing.

Face to face courses may be cancelled at short notice if indicated by new government guidance, if this is the case you will be booked onto the corresponding online session.
