Self Advocacy and communication

It can be hard to be heard in a caring role as many other voices are involved. This workshop helps us work out how best to convey the messages we want to be heard.
Duration: 3 weeks (7th, 14th & 21st May)

This event is open to carers residing in or caring for a person in Edinburgh only.
Outcomes of this online session
By the end of the course carers will have:
- Explored what self-advocacy is and the benefits and challenges.
- Thought about who you are communicating with and for what reason.
- Shared communication tips and techniques.
Aga Newsome, Carer Training Officer at VOCAL. Aga has recently joined the team at VOCAL, and comes with over 4 years’ experience of delivering training in the care sector. She runs a number of face to face and online courses for carers.
