Understanding Dementia

Do you care for someone with dementia? Led by experienced dementia nurses this session will help you understand the basics of dementia and some of the challenges that come with the condition.

Who is this online session for?
This event is open to carers residing in or caring for a person in Edinburgh only.

Led by experienced dementia nurses, this session is aimed at carers supporting someone in the early or mid-stages of dementia.

Outcomes of this online session

The following topics will be covered in the session:

  • What is dementia.
  • An explanation of the different types of dementia.
  • An understanding of diagnosis and treatment.
  • The impact of dementia on the person you care for.
  • Post diagnostic support.
  • How dementia challenges communication.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.
