When: Tuesday 22 October, 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
About the event:
This session is aimed at carers supporting someone in the early or mid-stages of dementia.
Led by an experienced dementia nurse, this session will help you understand the basics of dementia and some of the challenges that come with the condition.
The following topics will be covered in the session:
- What dementia is
- An explanation of the different types of dementia
- An understanding of diagnosis and treatment
- The impact of dementia on the person you care for
- Post-diagnostic support
- How dementia challenges communication
There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the session.
