Understanding Dementia

Do you care for someone with dementia? Led by an experienced dementia nurse this session will help you understand the basics of dementia and some of the challenges that come with the condition. There will be an opportunity to be able ask questions.

Duration: 1 week

Who is this online session for?
Led by an experienced dementia nurse this session is aimed at carers supporting someone in the early or mid-stages of dementia.
This event is open to carers from Edinburgh and Midlothian.

Outcomes of this online session

The following topics will be covered in the session –

  • What dementia is.
  • An explanation of the different types of dementia.</li
  • An understanding of diagnosis and treatment.
  • The impact of dementia on the person you care for.
  • Post diagnostic support.
  • How dementia challenges communication.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.
