About the event:

These classes will run fortnightly on a Wednesday, 4pm – 5pm.

Do you care for someone with dementia?  If so, why not join us online to practice a bit of Pilates?

Led by an experienced instructor this series of Pilates classes have been provided to VOCAL by Edinburgh Leisure’s Movement for Memories programme. Take time for yourself to enjoy learning and trying Pilates.

By coming along to the Pilates sessions you will:

  • Take time for your own health and wellbeing
  • Try something new or practice something you already do
  • Meet other carers

Join us and Art in Healthcare in this workshop to learn creative ways to bring artwork alive in a new way through activities. 2022 has been designated Scotland’s Year of Stories. This will be a year in which stories inspired by, created, or written in Scotland will be showcased and celebrated. The love of stories is hardwired into us all; it is one of the strongest ways we connect with one another and share our experiences. Art in Healthcare and the Scottish Poetry Library are working together to explore stories of landscape and nature in artworks using creative workshops. Free. 2 sessions, can attend either one or both. No experience needed. All materials provided. Led by an Art in Healthcare professional Artist. These events have been supported by the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund. This fund is being delivered in partnership between VisitScotland and Museums Galleries Scotland with support from National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players.

Join us and other carers and share your experiences. You will help make a difference to other carers and shape local services in the future

Join us and other parent carers of adults for a cuppa and chat. A new group for parent carers of adults, led by parent carers of adults. Discuss issues that matter most to you, and have an opportunity to meet others on a similar journey!

This event is for carers who live in Midlothian or care for someone living in Midlothian.

Heather from Room for Art will guide the group through an 8-week block of art projects. No previous experience needed and all materials are provided.

Duration 8 sessions, 10am-11.30am

Join other carers to make your craft pack and enjoy a blether whilst doing so! Craft packs provided. No previous experience or skills are required. Materials and instructions are provided.

This interactive workshop, run by experienced British Red Cross educators, will help you build your confidence to help someone in a first aid emergency, using everyday objects around you.
