About the event:  

During this session, we will talk about managing vulnerabilities and how to support children to learn the concept of public and private places, and associated behaviours. For carers of children and young people with Additional Support Needs (ASN).

We will discuss the ultimate taboo – masturbation – and how we can support our young people to learn concepts of public and private places and behaviours. You will learn more about:

• Key indicators and milestones in puberty to look out for around masturbation
• How to promote the learning of what is appropriate in public and private places
• Strategies to help redirect, distract and reinforce public and private behaviours
• Taking a community-wide approach to promote public and private behaviour for a consistent message

Delivered by:

Corrie Mclean. Corrie has been working in education for a decade, developing her specialist skills in sexual health and inclusive learning. She works closely with vulnerable individuals with ASN and parents and carers who support them.
