An introduction to residential care costs in Scotland
This event is open to carers residing in or caring for a person in Edinburgh and Midlothian.
When: Thursday 23 October, 10:30am-12pm
About the event: When a family member or friend goes into a care home, it can be a difficult time for everyone. Navigating and understanding residential care home funding can create extra stress. In this friendly workshop, you will learn the basics of how care home fees are assessed and calculated.
We will look at the upper and lower capital limits; what might happen to income such as state pension and occupational pensions; learn about free personal care and nursing care payments; and consider the frequently asked questions by carers facing this emotive situation.
Delivered by: Rachel Davison, Training Officer, Age Scotland. Rachel delivers a range of dementia training courses to a broad range of groups and organisations
