Join Luke from Enable Works who will be presenting information on their All In Edinburgh and Next Steps programmes which support individuals over the age of 16 with learning disabilities to reach a positive destination in employment or education.
Enable Works serves people who are facing barriers to employment to obtain and sustain high-quality and rewarding careers. Enable Works provides a variety of work programmes, training and resources to help jobseekers with learning disabilities. We also help employers looking to benefit from hiring a more diverse workforce.

When: Tuesday 30 April, 10:30am – 12pm.

About the event:  

This live sound bath session will gently guide you into a meditative state of deep relaxation and calm, soothing mind and body.
This session will begin with a short guided meditation during which you will be invited to visualise an intention for the sound journey, which will intensify your personal experience. Himalayan singing bowls, gongs and various other instruments will immerse you in sounds of various frequencies. Participants often experience a deep sense of connection, presence, relaxation and peace, and frequently enjoy more restorative sleep following a sound session. Please bring your own mat (eg. a yoga mat), a blanket and a small pillow/cushion if you wish to lie down, which is strongly recommended. Alternatively, if you prefer to sit, please bring a comfy cushion or pillow.

Do you care for your sibling? Join this workshop to meet other sibling carers, share your experiences and find out more about how VOCAL can support you.

Caring for your sibling can be challenging and sometimes an isolating experience. This session will offer a safe and supportive space for you to learn and share experiences. Whether you are seeking advice or a listening ear, join us and other sibling carers to explore the impacts of your caring role and improve your wellbeing.

About the event:  

Find out more about Adult Carer Support Plans including how to get one, what information is included and why it is important to complete one.
As of April 2018, The Carers Act stipulates that all adult carers have the right to an Adult Carer Support Plan. An Adult Carer Support Plan helps you to think about what support you might need in your caring role. The plan sets out any needs you have and how they will be met. By the end of this session we will have:
– Discussed what an ACSP is and why it’s important to have one
– Looked in detail at the sections of the ACSP
– Discussed who to share it with, when to review it and where to keep it
– Planned your next steps and where to get further help
