National Library of Scotland visit *fully booked*
This event is open to carers residing in or caring for a person in Edinburgh and Midlothian.
When: Tuesday 29 July, 2pm – 3:30pm
About the event: Join us to discover what goes on behind the scenes at Scotland’s largest library. This relaxing afternoon session will include a tour of the building and our newest exhibition ‘Dear Library’.
In this session we will tour the library, including the ‘stacks’ where the books are stored, and the reading rooms. We’ll also visit the exhibitions, including our new display ‘Dear Library’ which explores how libraries and librarians have been portrayed in popular culture, as well as the vital role that libraries play in communities across Scotland today.
The National Library’s vast collection includes historic maps, film and moving image, sound collections, newspapers and magazines, photographs, and archives. Whatever you’re interested in, we hope you’ll be inspired by this afternoon at the Library. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Delivered by: Beverley Casebow, Learning and Outreach Officer, National Library of Scotland
