This event is open to carers residing in or caring for a person in Edinburgh only.

When: Thursday 18 April, 10am – 12pm.

About the event:  

Led by an experienced dementia nurse, this session is aimed at carers supporting someone in the early or mid stages of dementia.
Do you care for someone with dementia? This session will help you understand the basics of dementia and some of the challenges that come with the condition. The following topics will be covered in the session:
– What dementia is
– An explanation of the different types of dementia
– An understanding of diagnosis and treatment
– The impact of dementia on the person you care for
– Post-diagnostic support
– How dementia challenges communication.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the session.
